BGCKL Participates In Holiday Light Display Festival

Published December 15, 2022 16:56

BGC Kawarthas is a participant and a beneficiary in Merry & Bright, a light show festival taking place at the Lindsay Exhibition for the next week. From 5:30 - 8:30 p.m., cars will be able to drive through a kilometer of light displays, a true festive feast for the eyes.

The recent snow storm delayed the opening night, but it has been confirmed it will be taking place tonight, December 16.

The Merry & Bright Festival opening ceremony was held December 14 at the Commonwell Exhibition Building. LAS President Dr. Lois Batty opened the ceremonies saying the LAS is proud and excited to open the Festival again this year for the community to enjoy.

Councillors McDonald and Smeaton brought greetings on behalf of Mayor Elmslie. Councillor McDonald remarked on the success of the first two years of the event, noting that the contributions the Festival have made to the community are appreciated by all. Councillor Smeaton said he and his family enjoyed the Festival last year and that as a Councillor, he is pleased to be able to attend events like the Merry & Bright Festival to celebrate the organizers’ efforts and their contributions to the community.
