Kawartha Lakes – In recognition of BGC Club Day on Friday June 3, Kawartha Lakes City Hall will be lit in green lights. The event will celebrate the opportunities Clubs across Canada create for over 200,000 young people and their families every year.
“We’re excited that City Hall will be lit up in our signature colour for the first time,” said Amy Terrill, Executive Director of BGC Kawarthas. “Thank you to the City for helping us celebrate and acknowledging our Club’s history and the impact we’ve had since 1970 improving the lives of children and youth of Kawartha Lakes.”
BGC Kawarthas’ program departments will also be hosting special activities to mark BGC Club Day.
In addition to the local activities, Walk Off The Earth will air a special concert at 6:30pm EDT on Facebook Live for BGC, on BGC Canada’s Facebook page, @BGCCAN. Musician Jully Black will be BGC’s Club Day ambassador.
These landmarks from around the country will additionally be lit green in celebration of BGC Club Day: CN Tower, Toronto Sign, Montréal Olympic Stadium, Edmonton High Level Bridge, Niagara Falls, Red Deer City Hall, Sarnia-Lambton City Hall, and the Saline Creek Drive pedestrian bridge
