Construction is set to begin July 18th for a skatepark by our Lindsay basketball court, a project that has been in the making for over a decade.
In March 2022, BGC Kawarthas received a $475,000 capital grant from the Government of Ontario and administered by the Ontario Trillium Federation. Additional funding has made the project valued at $870,000.
Meetings with insight from the public about what features the park should offer led to this final concept design from Newline Skateparks.
The park will be built to accommodate not only skateboards but scooters and BMX bikes. Construction is expected to be completed by November.
